Monarchs re-sign Anthoine

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Seeley announced that the team has signed forward Mark Anthoine to a Standard Player Contract for the 2016-17 season.The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.Anthoine, 25, returns to Manchester after spending the final 35 games of the regular season with the Monarchs, as well as all five Kelly Cup Playoff games. Before coming to Manchester, Anthoine played in 10 games for the Evansville Icemen. With the Monarchs, Anthoine recorded 19 points (10g-9a), including two goals and three assists in his first two games with the team. Despite spending less than half of the year in Manchester, Anthoine was awarded the Monarchs Community Service Award for his contributions in the community and to charitable organizations off the ice.A native of Lewiston, Maine, Anthoine played collegiately at the University of Maine for four years, skating in 146 games and scoring 50 points (26g-24a). During his final season on campus, Anthoine was named an assistant captain.In parts of three seasons since leaving Maine, Anthoine has played professionally for the IceMen, Huntsville Havoc (SPHL), Pensacola Ice Flyers (SPHL) and Monarchs, registering 49 points (22g-27a).
