Blain re-signs with Beast

Blain re-signs with Beast

BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced that Luc-Olivier Blain has signed a contract for the 2016-17 season.

Blain, 26, appeared in 66 games as a rookie in the ECHL last season and was one of the Beast's most consistent competitors, picking up 32 points (10g-22a). He also appeared in two games with the IceCaps last season.

Prior to joining the Beast, Blain spent two seasons in France with Angers and amassed 92 points (33g-59a) in just 49 games.

Before making the jump to professional hockey, Blain played his university hockey at the University of Ottawa for three seasons from 2010-13. He recorded an impressive rookie campaign in 2010-11, scoring 52 points (16g-36a) in just 28 games played.
