ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced the team has signed forward Daultan Leveille to a Standard Player Contract for the 2016-17 season.
Leveille joins the Jackals for his fifth professional season and fourth in North America. The 26-year-old spent the 2015-16 campaign with the Evansville IceMen and the Binghamton Senators (AHL). Leveille led the IceMen in goals with 24 despite playing in just 55 ECHL games. The alternate captain finished third on the team with 44 points. He also added a goal and an assist in five games with Binghamton.Leveille played the previous season in France for Rouen, helping the club win the French Cup championship. He registered 17 points (9g-8a) in 26 regular-season games and added seven points (3g-4a) in six French League Cup contests.
Before he traveled across the pond, Leveille ranked second among IceMen skaters in goals with 22 and finished third on the team with 47 points in 66 games during the 2013-14 season. He split the 2012-13 campaign between the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL), Wheeling Nailers and San Francisco Bulls notching 12 points in 50 combined games.
Prior to turning pro, the St. Catharines, Ontario native skated in 131 NCAA games at Michigan State University logging 69 points (26g-43a) over his four-year career. Before attending Michigan State, Leveille was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the first round (29th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
