Richard Seeley was named the first head coach in Manchester’s ECHL history on July 6, 2015. Richard Seeley was named the first head coach in Manchester’s ECHL history on July 6, 2015. He has led the Monarchs to back-to-back appearances in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, and to the East Division title in his first season in 2015-16.

Seeley played four seasons with the Monarchs in the American Hockey League from 2001 through 2004 and again in the 2005-06 season. He was the second captain in team history and played in 249 games with the Monarchs, recording 57 points (11g-46a) and adding 394 penalty minutes. Seeley was extremely active in the Manchester community as a two-time nominee for the AHL’s Man of the Year award for outstanding community service.

A sixth-round selection (137th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Seeley also saw American Hockey League time with the Lowell Lock Monsters, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Norfolk Admirals, while also appearing in nine ECHL games with the Trenton Titans during the 2000-01 season. Seeley spent the final five years of his professional career in Europe playing for teams in the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria.
