BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announced that defenseman Tyson Wilson has joined the Beast ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Wilson, a native of Brockville, Ontario, just completed his first professional season as a member of the Tulsa Oilers. In 55 games played, Wilson accounted for 16 points (3g-13a), while adding 30 penalty minutes.

Playing on an American Hockey League contract, he also appeared in three games for the Oilers' AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose.

Prior to turning pro, Wilson appeared in 145 career games at Robert Morris University, scoring 79 points (11g-68a). He served as the team's captain during his final year in 2015-16 and hit his stride, posting 27 points (2g-25a) in 38 games played.

His strong senior year resulted in several impressive accolades. Not only did he lead his team to an Atlantic Hockey Conference regular-season title, he was also named to the Second All-Conference Team as well as the Lowes Senior Class All-American Second Team.
