WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Matt Garbowsky for the 2017-18 season.

The 26-year-old is coming off a season in which he posted new career-highs in goals (36), assists (45) and points (81). He was named to both the All-ECHL First Team, as well as capturing MVP honors after posting two goals and two assists in the annual ECHL All-Star Classic. Garbowsky helped Colorado secure its first-ever Kelly Cup Championship, collecting 15 points (6g-9a) in 20 postseason contests.

Garbowsky experienced a highly-acclaimed career at the NCAA level in four seasons at the Rochester Institute of Technology. During his collegiate career, he amassed 114 points in 128 games, was named the AHA Player of the Year, captured an AHA championship, was named to the AHA All-Star Team and was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the most outstanding player in NCAA hockey.

In addition to his time with the Eagles, Garbowsky registered 21 points (7g-14a) in 33 games with the Elmira Jackals during the 2015-16 season and has also appeared in 24 games with the Rochester Americans of the AHL, after making his professional debut with the Americans at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season.
