ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with rookie forward Troy Crema for the 2017-18 season.
The Solar Bears are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs and the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.
Crema will begin his first full professional season after completing his collegiate career with Dartmouth College in 2017-18, in which he led the team in scoring with a career-high 29 points (17g-12a) and 32 penalty minutes in 31 games. Five of Crema’s goals were game-winners, which also were tops among Big Green skaters. For his efforts, Crema was named All-Ivy League First Team, and was a nominee for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award as the top college hockey player in the nation.
Upon Dartmouth’s elimination in the ECAC tournament, the 22-year-old Crema also skated in two American Hockey League games on an amateur tryout with the Rochester Americans, recording two penalty minutes.
In 91 career NCAA games with Dartmouth, the Toronto native collected 59 points (27g-32a) and 54 penalty minutes.
