Eagles sign rookie forward Ratelle

WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced that they have signed forward Joey Ratelle for the 2017-18 season.

The 21-year-old rookie enjoyed a five-year career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he posted 208 points (113g-95a) in 285 games with the Drummondville Voltigeurs and Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Ratelle notched new career-highs in goals (41), assists (36), points (77) and penalty minutes (113) in 62 games last season with the Voltigeurs and Sagueneens.

Ratelle collected 20 or more goals in three of his five seasons in the QMJHL, including a breakout year during the 2014-15 campaign when he registered 33 goals and 19 assists in 66 games with Drummondville. Ratelle spent the 2016-17 season as the captain of the Voltigeurs after serving as an alternate captain in the previous two seasons.
