Grant returns to Wichita

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers and AHL's Bakersfield Condors, announced that forward Gerrad Grant has re-signed for the 2017-18 season.

Grant, 27, returns to Wichita after recording 20 points (6g-14a) in 67 games during his rookie campaign. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, he turned pro last year after playing five seasons at Saint Mary's University. He finished with 53 points (17g-36a) in 125 career games for the Huskies and also added five goals in 19 playoff games. He helped Saint Mary's take the bronze medal at the 2016 University Cup.

Before heading to Canadian University, Grant played three years for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Halifax Mooseheads, where he collected 90 points (42g-48a) in 192 career games. His best season came during the 2009-10 campaign, recording 48 points (22g-26a) in 64 games.
