West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced today that the team has signed forward Peter Sivak for the 2017-18 season.
The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League's San Diego Gulls.
Sivak, 35, has totaled 312 points (136g-176a) in 299 career ECHL games. He comes to Utah as the third-leading scorer in the ECHL since embarking on his North American career in 2012 with San Francisco. He has played in 892 total professional games.
He spent last season with the Alaska Aces where he totaled 65 points (35g-30a) in 53 games. The Aces were 26-21-6 with Sivak in the lineup and 6-9-4 with him out of the lineup during a midseason injury.
The United States citizen, who’s a native of the Czech Republic, has totaled 30 goals or more in three of his five ECHL seasons. He was a member of the Alaska team in 2013-2014 that won the Kelly Cup championship. During that season, he also was named to the All-ECHL First Team, won the league’s Sportsmanship Award and was the ECHL’s Plus-Performer of the Year with a +49.
