LeBlanc enters first full pro season in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with rookie forward Chris LeBlanc for the 2017-18 season.

The Solar Bears are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs and the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.

LeBlanc, 23, is expected to begin his first full season of professional hockey after briefly playing for the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators and ECHL’s Wichita Thunder at the end of the 2016-17 campaign. LeBlanc appeared in six games with Binghamton, and logged five assists and two penalty minutes in seven contests for Wichita.

Prior to turning pro, LeBlanc completed four seasons of college hockey playing for Merrimack College. In 113 career games for the Warriors, the Winthrop, Mass. native recorded 48 points (22g-26a) and 53 penalty minutes. LeBlanc was a sixth-round selection (161st overall) of the Ottawa Senators in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
