Monarchs bring back defenseman Agosta

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Seeley announced that Justin Agosta has signed a contract for the 2017-18 season.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Agosta, 26, returns to Manchester after a trade-deadline deal that sent the ECHL All-Star starter to the Toledo Walleye last season. Overall, he scored 35 points (7g-28a) in 52 games during the 2016-17 season. Agosta took calls to the AHL last season with the San Antonio Rampage, Albany Devils and Hershey Bears, and played one game for each club.

The native of East Meadow, N.Y. played collegiately at the University of New Hampshire for three seasons and finished his amateur career at Quinnipiac University. While on campus, Agosta totaled 155 games played and scored 67 points (12g-55a). Upon graduating, Agosta signed with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers and notched an assist in eight games.

In his career, Agosta has scored 56 points on 16 goals and 40 assists in 93 career ECHL games.
