West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has re-signed forward Michael Pelech.
The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League's San Diego Gulls.
Pelech enters his fourth season with the Grizzlies after totaling 37 points (16g-21a) in 48 games last year after being re-acquired from the Reading Royals on Dec. 13. His reinsertion into the Utah lineup helped start a 27-13-5 run to finish the season and he was named the team’s Most Valuable Player at the year-end Player Awards Banquet.
In 167 career games with Utah, Pelech has 140 points (54g-86a) to rank as the ninth-leading scorer in team history. He has 15 points (7g-8a) in 21 career playoff games for the Grizzlies.
Pelech has played in 456 career ECHL games with 311 points (109g-202a) and 794 penalty minutes. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round (156th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
