Railers add rookie defenseman Raskob

WORCESTER, Mass.  –  The Worcester Railers Hockey Club, ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced that the club has signed defenseman Willie Raskob for the 2017-18 season.

Raskob joins the Railers fresh off a 2016-17 NCAA NCHC championship run with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. He spent four seasons with UMD (2013-17) playing in 148 games for the Bulldogs and recorded 59 points (10g-49a), 124 penalty minutes and a +20 rating.

The Hastings, Minn. native played in 41 games his senior year and recorded 17 points (4g-13a), 69 penalty minutes, and a +10 rating. Raskob was voted to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff All-Tournament Team after tying for the scoring lead at that two-day event.

Raskob attended the Islanders development camp this past July.
