Railers sign second-year forward Saracino

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club, ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced that the club has signed forward Nick Saracino to a contract for the 2017-18 season.

Saracino joins the Railers after spending the last season with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League where he played in 33 games and recorded six points (2g-4a) and six penalty minutes.

Prior to playing for the Wild, the St. Louis, Mo. native spent four years with Providence College, where he played in 145 games and recorded 116 points (46g-70a), 66 penalty minutes and a +43 rating. Saracino served as alternate captain his senior year, and was a member of the 2015 NCAA National Championship team. Two of his four seasons at Providence were spent skating under Railers' Head Coach Jamie Russell, who served as assistant coach from 2011-14.

Before joining the Friars, Saracino played two seasons with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League. He played in 99 games for the RoughRiders and put up 73 points (20g-53a), 32 penalty minutes and a +18 rating.
