Rookie defenseman Schurhamer signs with Monarchs

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Seeley announced that Eric Schurhamer has signed a Standard Player Contract for the 2017-18 season.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Schurhamer, 23, re-signs with Manchester after playing 12 games for the Monarchs during the 2016-17 season. During his first stint in professional hockey, Schurhamer scored three points, with his first career goal coming March 3 against the Elmira Jackals.

The native of St. Paul, Minn. spent his past four years playing college hockey at the University of Maine, where he skated in 126 career games. Schurhamer tallied 43 points (10g-33a) while on campus, and served as the alternate captain for the Black Bears during his senior season.
