Toledo, Ohio – Defenseman Davis Vandane has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2017-18 season.
The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League and the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
Vandane appeared in a career-high 68 games this past season with the Elmira Jackals posting 37 points (11g-26a) with 61 penalty minutes.
The Yorkton, Saskatchewan native appeared with three teams in the ECHL as a rookie in 2015-16 splitting time between Greenville, Alaska and Norfolk while accruing eight points (2g-6a) and 10 penalty minutes. Prior to turning professional, he spent two years with the University of Calgary appearing in 33 contests with 18 points (5g-13a). The 25-year-old played in 189 games with Saskatoon, Spokane and Prince Albert in the Western Hockey League from 2009-13 with 79 points (15g-64a) and a +27 rating.
