Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers and AHL's Bakersfield Condors, announced the signing of defenseman Alex Miner-Barron.
Miner-Barron, 26, returns to North America after playing his rookie season in France with Strasbourg. A native of Glendora, Calif., he registered 29 points (3g-26a) in 44 games. He led all French League defenseman in assists last year.
Prior to turning pro, Miner-Barron played a four-year career at Quinnipiac University and helped the Bobcats reach the Frozen Four title game in 2013 and 2016. Known for his versatility, Miner-Barron played both forward and defense while collecting 31 points (7g-24a) in 145 games.
