Monarchs re-sign captain Kolomatis

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Seeley announced that David Kolomatis has re-signed with the club for the 2017-18 season.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Kolomatis, 28, returns to Manchester after scoring 35 points (7g-28a) in 61 games last season, while serving as the Monarchs' captain for the second consecutive season. Kolomatis added seven points (2g-5a) in 19 Kelley Cup Playoff games.

The native of Basking Ridge, N.J., was selected by the Kings in the fifth round (126th overall) the 126th overall of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In seven professional seasons in North America, Kolomatis has accumulated 144 points (37g-107a) in 338 AHL games, as well as 52 points (13g-39a) in 96 ECHL games. He played one season for Tappara in Finland where he scored 12 points (1g-11a) in 45 games.
