Rookie Thibault signs with Wichita

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers and AHL's Bakersfield Condors, announced the signing of defenseman Samuel Thibault. 

Thibault, 21, turns pro after playing the last four seasons for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Baie-Comeau Drakkar. A native of Ste-Martine, Quebec, he amassed 284 penalty minutes to go along with 50 points (10g-40a) in 207 career games. He served as an alternate captain in 2015-16 and collected a career-high 134 penalty minutes. Last year, Thibault was selected as the team's captain and netted a career-best 21 points (6g-25a) and 81 penalty minutes.
