Veteran forward Aubin joins Americans

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced the signing of forward Mathieu Aubin to a contract for the 2017-18 season.

Aubin will begin his 11th season as a professional this October and his first with the Americans.

A native of Sorel, Quebec, Aubin played the last three seasons with the Utah Grizzlies where had seasons of 44, 68 and 47 points, respectively. Prior to Utah, he spent four seasons with the Cincinnati Cyclones, along with AHL stints in Hamilton, Lake Erie, Bridgeport, Houston and Milwaukee.

A fifth-round selection (105th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Aubin played his junior hockey with Lewiston and Sherbrooke of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
