Walleye boost blue line with Obuchowski

Toledo, Ohio – Defenseman Ryan Obuchowski has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2017-18 season.

The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League and the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

The West Bloomfield, Mich. native just completed his first professional season as a member of the Missouri Mavericks where he posted 16 points (2g-14a) and picked up 31 penalty minutes over 69 contests.

Obuchowski attended Yale University from 2012-16, appearing in 134 games with 52 points (16g-36a) and 60 penalty minutes. The 25-year-old was a member of the 2012-13 Bulldogs squad that won the NCAA Championship. That season, he was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team.

Prior to his college days, he spent two years in the United States Hockey League with the Indiana Ice with 54 points (12g-42a) in 114 games.
