Stevenson back for second season with Wichita

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, announced the re-signing of forward Dyson Stevenson for the 2018-19 season.

Stevenson, 24, is coming off a career season where he notched 30 points (14g-16a) to go along with a team-leading 188 penalty minutes. A native of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, he was acquired in a trade last offseason with the Allen American and named team captain prior to the 2017-18 home opener.

He was an essential part of the Americans run to winning two Kelly Cup titles, appearing in 131 regular-season games in 2014-15 and 2015-16. He collected 54 points (19g-36a) to go along with 221 penalty minutes also played in 55 playoff games, notching 17 points (4g-13a) during his time in Allen.

Prior to turning pro, Stevenson played three seasons for the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats and was coached by current Thunder Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. In 2013-14, he had a career year, recording 76 points (38g-38a) and 121 penalty minutes.
