Goaltender Carlson joins Rush

Goaltender Carlson joins Rush

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush announced today that third-year goaltender Adam Carlson has joined the team for the 2018-19 season.

Carlson comes to the Rush after spending last season with four different teams between the American Hockey League and ECHL. He started the season with the AHL’s Hershey Bears, his first career action in the AHL, and appeared in 6 games, going 2-3-0 with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. After his stint in Hershey, he went on to appear in 16 ECHL games with South Carolina, Indy and Kansas City, posting an overall record of 6-3-4 with two shutouts, a 2.56 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905. 

A native of Edina, Minnesota, Carlson has spent his last two seasons within the Washington Capitals organization , primarily playing for South Carolina. In his ECHL career, he has compiled a record of 15-14-6 with a 2.80 goals-against average, an .899 save percentage and two shutouts.

Before turning pro, Carlson played a year in the NCAA with Mercyhurst University where he went 7-7-3 in 17 games with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.
