Chukarov re-signs with Railers

Chukarov re-signs with Railers

Worcester, Mass.– The Worcester Railers Hockey Club, ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced that the club has re-signed defenseman Ivan Chukarovto a contract for the 2019-20 season.

The 24-year-old Chukarov made his professional debut with the Railers last season on Feb. 20 against the Manchester Monarchs. Chukarov ended the season playing in 15 games and posting five points (2g-3a). 

The Des Plaines, Illinois native played at UMass-Amherst from 2015-19 where he played in 128 games for the Minutemen scoring 25 points (6g-19a) and adding 88 penalty minutes. Chukarov played his junior hockey with the Minnesota Wilderness in the North American Hockey League from 2013-15 and won the Robertson Cup in 2015 with the club. 

Chukarov was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round (182nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
