Defenseman Auk joins Walleye

Defenseman Auk joins Walleye

Toledo, Ohio –Defenseman Mark Auk has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2019-20 season.

The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League and the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

A native of Grosse Point Park, Michigan, Auk has a year of professional experience under his belt after spending the 2018-19 season with Lukko Rauma in Finland. The 24-year-old appeared in 47 games and posted 10 points (1g-9a) while adding 12 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning professional, Auk spent four years at Michigan Tech, skating in 150 games with 84 points (21g-63a) and 49 penalty minutes. As a senior in the 2017-18 season, Auk set career bests with nine goals and 22 assists. He was a plus player in all four years for the Huskies and was part of the 2015-16 WCHA regular-season championship team.
