INDIANAPOLIS –The Indy Fuel, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks and the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs, announced that they have signed goaltender Charles Williams and forward Joe Sullivan for the 2019-20 season.
Williams, 27, spent the 2018-19 season with the Manchester Monarchs, appearing in 45 regular-season games as well as all 11 of Manchester’s 2019 Kelly Cup Playoff games. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Williams has two ECHL seasons under his belt, posting a 2.69 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 87 games. He has also appeared in six AHL games between the Hartford Wolf Pack and Ontario Reign. Prior to turning pro, Williams spent four years at Ferris State University before transferring to Canisius College to play his final season of eligibility. In one season at Canisius, Williams put up a 1.82 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage, becoming a 2017 Hobey Baker Award finalist.
Sullivan, 25, also spent last season with Manchester, appearing in 55 games and compiling 20 points (6g-14a). Prior to signing his first professional contract,he spent four years at St. Lawrence University, appearing in 144 games and tallying 72 points (36g-36a). Sullivan served as captain during his senior year. Prior to his collegiate career, the Las Vegas, Nevada native spent a season in Indianapolis playing for the United States Hockey League’s Indiana Ice, helping the team to a Clark Cup championship in 2013-14.
