Larkin re-signs with Swamp Rabbits

GREENVILLE, S.C. — DefensemanAdam Larkin has agreed to terms on a contract to return to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the 2019–20 season.

The Swamp Rabbits are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes and the American Hockey League's Charlotte Checkers.

The 24-year-old started last season with the Reading Royals, but on December 11, 2018, moved to Greenville in a trade. Larkin posted 24 points (5g-19a) and posted a +2 rating in 45 games with Greenville. Combined with his time in Reading, he put up 27 points (6g-21a) in 58 games.

Larkin comes from a hockey family. Most notably, his cousin, Dylan Larkin, has blossomed into a star with the Detroit Red Wings. Another cousin of his, Colin Larkin, spent last season with the Wichita Thunder. Lastly, his brother, Ryan Larkin, has played the last three seasons at Miami University.

His college career was built on an ironman reputation. Larkin only missed three games across four seasons at Yale University, and he was Yale's top-scoring defenseman in his junior year.
