Worcester, Mass.– The Worcester Railers Hockey Club, ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. announced that the club has signed forwardKyle Thomas to a contract for the 2019-20 season.
The 29-year-old forward enters his seventh professional season after playing for the Kalamazoo Wings last season where he scored 38 points (15g-23a) and had a personal ECHL career-long 15-game point streak last season from Jan. 16-Feb. 20. On Feb. 21, Thomas was recalled by the American Hockey League's Utica Comets where he ended up playing in six games posting two points (1g-1a).
Thomas has played in 240 ECHL games with the Reading Royals, Quad City Mallards, Fort Wayne Komets, Utah Grizzlies and Kalamazoo Wings scoring a combined 198 points (74g-124a) and adding 255 penalty minutes. He has also played in 25 AHL games scoring six points (3g-3a) with the Cleveland Monsters, San Diego Gulls and Utica Comets (2018-19).
Prior to professional hockey, Thomas played four years at Norwich University from 2009-13 where he played in 114 games scoring 126 points (68g-58a) and winning a National Championship in 2010.
