RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes, announced that rookie forward Gabe Chabot has signed his first professional contract with the Rush entering the 2020-21 season.
Chabot’s professional debut with the Rush comes following the conclusion of his college career at Boston University. He earned a career-high five goals as a senior, and matched his career-best with seven points in 33 games with the Terriers. At the conclusion of the season, Boston University Hockey bestowed upon him the team’s Albert Sidd “Unsung Hero” Award.
A native of St. Albert, Alberta, Chabot compiled 21 points (10g-11a) in 134 career collegiate games. Chabot helped the Terriers qualify for the NCAA Hockey Tournament twice (2017, 2018), and helped the team to the 2018 Hockey East championship. Additionally, he completed his freshman season with 2017 Hockey East All-Academic Team honors. Chabot is the son of former NHL goaltender Frederic Chabot, who earlier this week was named the Goaltending Coach of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
