SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah Ghost Pirates, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights and the American Hockey League’s Henderson Silver Knights, announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Tristan Thompson for the 2022-2023 season.

Thompson joins the Ghost Pirates after recording 26 points (4g-22a) in 48 games with the Rapid City Rush as a rookie last season.

Prior to beginning his professional career, the 25-year-old totaled 62 points in four collegiate seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks from 2016-20. The Canmore, Alberta resident concluded his junior career in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Brooks Bandits posting 33 points (6g-27a) in 33 contests.

Savannah acquired Thompson's rights via trade from Rapid City in exchange for future considerations earlier this month.
