Morelli makes NHL debut

Morelli makes NHL debut

Former Kansas City Mavericks and South Carolina Stingrays forward Mason Morelli became the 748th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday at San Jose. Morelli had a goal and an assist in the Golden Knights 4-0 victory.

Morelli is the eighth former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2023-24 season. He tallied seven points (3g-4a) in five games with the Mavericks in the 2019-20 season before adding nine points (4g-5a) in 11 games with the Stingrays during the 2020-21 season.

A native of Minot, North Dakota, Morelli has totaled 114 points (41g-73a) in 239 career games in the American Hockey League with Stockton, Hershey and Henderson.
