Less, Young return to Adirondack

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – The Adirondack Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils and American Hockey League's Utica Comets, have announced that the club has re-signed defenseman Brendan Less and forward Alex Young to contracts for the 2024-25 season.

Less, 26, returns to Adirondack after playing in 44 regular-season games last year and totaled 13 points (2g-11a) with 23 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of +12. He also played in 19 playoff games.

The Kinnelon, New Jersey native spent the 2022-23 season with the Iowa Heartlanders where he played 22 games and recorded four assists. Less has suited up in 72 regular-season ECHL games for Adirondack, Worcester and Iowa and has 18 points (2g-16a). Prior to joining the professional ranks, Less played four years at Dartmouth College and one year at Quinnipiac University. In 125 career NCAA games, he tallied 36 points (6g-30a).

Young, 23, joined the Thunder last season out of Arizona State University and recorded six points (2g-4a) in seven regular-season games and appeared in nine playoff games.

Prior to joining the Thunder last season, Young finished his fourth year of college hockey with Arizona State University and recorded nine points (6g-3a) in 37 games. The Calgary, Alberta native spent the previous three seasons at Colgate University and totaled 83 points (37g-46a) in 100 games. He led Colgate with 39 points (21g-18a) in 40 games during the 2022-23 season and was selected in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose
Sharks in the seventh round.
