Engum re-signs with Admirals

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals announced that they have re-signed defenseman Brehdan Engum to a contract for the 2026-27 season.

Engum inked his first professional deal with Norfolk in the 2025-26 season, and went on to post 18 points (2g-16a) in 66 games. His +8 rating led all Admirals' defensemen.

The Burnsville, Minnesota native spent five seasons at the collegiate level before going pro. He suited up for 114 games over four seasons with the University of Massachusetts-Lowell from 2020-24 and 30 games in one season with Boston College in 2024-25. In 144 career college games, Engum scored 17 points (3g-17a). His +13 in 2021-22 was a career high and ranked second in his club, while finishing second or better in blocked shots over all five seasons.

Engum had stints in the United States Hockey League with the Central Illinois Flying Aces and the Waterloo Black Hawks. He spent the full 2017-18 season with the Flying Aces before being traded to the Blackhawks on Nov. 7 in the 2018-19 season. With the Black Hawks, he notched 32 points (6g-26a).
