TULSA, Okla. —The Tulsa Oilers, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League’s San Diego Gulls, announced the signing of forward Solag Bakich to a contract for the 2024-25 season.
Bakich joins the Oilers after splitting his first full pro season with the Reading Royals and Allen Americans. He appeared in six games with the Royals at the beginning of 2023-24 before being traded to the Americans, where he posted eight points (4g-4a) in 33 games. As a pro, Bakich has recorded 19 points (8g-11a) in 51 games.
The 26-year-old picked up 10 points (3g-7a) in 12 regular-season games with Reading in 2022-23 upon leaving college, adding another four points (1g-3a) in eight playoff appearances.
Prior to turning pro, Bakich spent four seasons (2019-23) at the University of Notre Dame, tallying 33 points (13g-20a) in 108 games.
The Dallas, Texas native spent most of his junior career in the United States Hockey League, notching 51 points (22g-29a) in 121 contests with Waterloo, Sioux City and Des Moines. Bakich served as an alternate captain his final season with Waterloo, where he spent 68 of his 121 USHL appearances. He also tallied 13 points (4g-9a) in 45 games with the North American Hockey League's Bismarck Bobcats in the 2015-16 season.
