Former Iowa Heartlanders' defenseman David Spacek became the 777th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Minnesota Wild on Thursday against Winnipeg.

Spacek is the ninth former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2025-26 season. He scored two goals in three games with the Heartlanders during the 2023-24 season.

A fifth-round selection (153rd overall) of the Wild in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Spacek has totaled 62 points (10g-52a) in 168 career games with Iowa of the American Hockey League.
