Former Rapid City Rush goaltender Arsenii Sergeev became the 782nd former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Calgary Flames on Thursday against Los Angeles.
Sergeev is the 14th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2025-26 season. He was 6-6-0 in 12 appearances for the Rush earlier this season with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage. He was selected to participate in the 2026 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic, but was unavailable due to being recalled to the American Hockey League.
A seventh-round selection (205th overall) of the Flames in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Sergeev saw action in 28 AHL games with Calgary this season going 5-13-8 with a 3.29 goals-against average and a save percentage of .898.
