TOLEDO, Ohio – Forward Kyle Gaffney returns to the Toledo Walleye for his first full professional season after agreeing to terms for the 2026-27 season.
Gaffney, hailing from Plymouth, Michigan, picked up a pair of assists in five regular-season games, followed by five points (3g-2a) and a +3 in 12 playoff games for the Walleye last season. He posted 17 points (4g-13a) and 20 penalty minutes in 40 games for the University of Minnesota-Duluth last season prior to signing with Toledo.
Prior to his senior season at Minnesota-Duluth, he skated three seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, accumulating 43 points (13g-30a) in 99 games. He played two North American Hockey League seasons for the Aberdeen Wings, serving as the captain in his second season and collecting 67 points (17g-50a) in 105 games.
