Walleye re-sign Waldron, Lewandowski

TOLEDO, Ohio – Forwards Johnny Waldron and Mitch Lewandowski return to Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2026-27 season.

Waldron, of Batavia, Illinois, posted 16 points (7g-9a) and 18 penalty minutes in 30 games for the Walleye last season, including a two-goal performance in his professional debut. He tallied eight points (1g-7a) and 10 penalty minutes in 21 games at Arizona State University last season prior to signing with Toledo.

Prior to his senior season with the Sun Devils, he played three seasons at the University of Miami (OH), recording 56 points (22g-34a) over 93 games. Prior to college, he played parts of four United States Hockey League seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks, accumulating 60 points (17g-43a) and 42 penalty minutes in 110 games.

Lewandowski, hailing from Clarkston, Michigan, posted 44 points (12g-32a) in 50 games for the Walleye in 2025-26 after returning to the United States mid-season. He began the season with Södertälje SK of HockeyAllsvenskan (Sweden), posting three points (1g-2a) in 11 games. Lewandowski has has seen action in 24 American Hockey League games across three seasons, splitting time with Tucson, Cleveland and Milwaukee, posting six points (3g-3a).

Prior to his pro career, Lewandowski played five seasons at Michigan State University, scoring 120 points (56g-64a)in 156 collegiate games, while serving as an alternate captain in his final two seasons. He also appeared in 106 United States Hockey League games from 2014-17 split between Chicago and Des Moines, racking up 52 points (22g-30a).
