Demsey agrees to terms with Icemen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Icemen, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild and the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild, announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Zane Demsey for the 2026-27 season.

Demsey, 24, will make his professional debut with the Icemen this season after four years of college hockey. He played at Miami University for three seasons before transferring to Northern Michigan University for his senior season. In 110 collegiate games, Demsey garnered 11 points (2g-9a) to go along with his 112 penalty minutes.

The native of Harrison Township, Michigan played junior hockey for three years with the Chippewa Steel and Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League before jumping to the United States Hockey League and the Waterloo Black Hawks and Dubuque Fighting Saints.
