WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda, announced the signing of forward Nicholas Niemo for the 2026-27 season.
Niemo recently turned pro after a four-year college career. The Middlebury, Vermont native was signed by the Utah Grizzlies this past March, notching three points (1g-2a) in 15 games.
The 25-year-old began his collegiate career at Bentley University. As a freshman in 2022-23, Niemo piled up 22 points (8g-14a) in 32 games and was named to the AHA All-Rookie Team. He transferred to the University of Maine for two seasons before finishing up at Niagara University. Overall, Niemo totaled 41 points (16g-25a) in 96 career NCAA games.
