ECHL announces fines, suspensions

ECHL announces fines, suspensions

The ECHL on Sunday announced the following fines and suspensions resulting from ECHL Playoff Game #C-4, Florida at Orlando, on April 22.

Florida’s Mitchell Heard has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions at 19:14 of the third period. Heard is suspended one game for receiving an instigating penalty in the final five minutes of regulation and two games as a result of his game misconduct under Rule #53.4.

Heard will miss the remainder of Florida’s series against Orlando. In the event the series ends prior to Game 7, Heard’s suspension will carry over to the 2017-18 regular season.

Florida’s Jake Baker has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions at 19:14 of the third period. Baker is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Baker will miss Florida’s playoff game at Orlando today (April 23).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
