The Florida Everblades capped a rally from a 3-1 series deficit with a 7-4 win over the Orlando Solar Bears on Wednesday in Game 7 of the South Division Semifinals at Germain Arena. Florida advances to meet South Carolina, a 4 games to 2 winner over Greenville, in the South Division Finals.
Stephen MacAulay and Brendan O'Donnell both scored two goals and added an assist in the win for Florida while John McCarron tallied three assists.
O'Donnell led the Everblades in the series with seven goals while McCarron (1g-10a) had a team-high 11 points. Anthony Peters went 4-0 with a 3.09 goals-against average and a save percentage of .904. Orlando was led by Denver Manderson (4g-5a) and Chris Crane (2g-7a) who both recorded nine points.
This marked the 13th time - out of 77 occurrences - in ECHL postseason history that a series was extended to seven games after a team had trailed 3-1. Florida is the sixth team to win an ECHL playoff series after trailing 3 games to 1.
