Over 250 representatives attend ECHL Hockey Summer Meetings presented by Brandiose and See Tickets

Over 250 representatives attend ECHL Hockey Summer Meetings presented by Brandiose and See Tickets

A record 250 attendees from 27 ECHL teams, including several owners, presidents and general managers, as well as representatives from teams in the American Hockey League, Southern Professional Hockey League, United States Hockey League, National Women’s Hockey League and Austria’s Eishockey Liga, participated in the 2017 ECHL Hockey Summer Meetings presented by Brandiose and See Tickets at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 14-16, 2017.

Keynote speaker Charlie Chislaghi, President of Sports Sales Consulting, Inc. kicked off the event. ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna provided his annual “State of the ECHL” address while the League’s Chief Operating Officer Ryan Crelin presented on Marketing to your Market.

“Participation continues to expand and this year featured our first European participants,” ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna said. “We believe this exchange of ideas will benefit our teams and all attendees in growing their business during the upcoming season as we all work to grow this great game.”

Jack Birch of Sponsorship Solved also addressed the attendees about why sponsorship works, while a number of breakout sessions were led by other industry professionals including:

For the 13th year in a row, AMI Graphics, the “Exclusive Signage Company of the ECHL”, awarded a complete set of dasher board and under-ice graphics to an attending team, which was won by the Worcester Railers for the 2017-18 season.

The annual Welcome Reception and Vendors’ Showcase presented by CCM, which highlighted over 30 companies, provided an opportunity for teams to view products from League vendors and licensees. The Fur Circus and See Tickets sponsored lunch during the event for attendees.

The week also included the 6th annual ECHL Career Fair, presented by TeamWork Online. Nearly 80 candidates from across the country – along with 14 ECHL teams, the American Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors and Accelerated Sports Career Academy, attended the fair with multiple candidates receiving job offers on site.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states, the ECHL has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 27 teams in 21 states and one Canadian province as it celebrates its 30th season in 2017-18. There have been who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL, including 24 who made their debut in the 2016-17 season. The ECHL had affiliations with 26 of the 30 NHL teams in 2016-17, marking the 20th consecutive season that the league had affiliations with at least 20 teams in the NHL.
