MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Seeley announced that Cory Ward has re-signed with the team for the 2017-18 season.
The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings.
Ward returns to the Monarchs after scoring 37 points (16g-21a) in his rookie season, while leading all players with 68 games played. The 23-year-old added five points (1g-4a) in 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
The native of Las Vegas played collegiately at Bemidji State University where he skated in 151 career games over a four-year career, and scored 80 (45g-35a).
In his short career, Ward has logged 10 games in the AHL between the St. John’s IceCaps and Syracuse Crunch, and has recorded four assists.
