INDEPENDENCE, Mo. ‑ The Kansas City Mavericks have re-signed forward Rocco Carzo for the 2017-18 season.
The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League and the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.
Carzo tied for second on the Mavericks with 45 points (21g-24a) in 2016-17, and he was tied for the team lead with nine power-play goals.
A native of Media, Pa., Carzo first joined the Mavericks in the 2015-16 season when he found immediate success as he claimed career highs in assists (41) and points (56). In his time with the Mavericks, Carzo has totaled 101 points (36g-65a).
Carzo was originally acquired by Kansas City after the 2014-15 season to complete a future considerations deal with Ontario. He has since skated in two AHL games in his two-year tenure with the Mavericks.
He has played in the ECHL since the 2012-13 season and has posted 192 points (72g-120a) in 269 games.
