Roy set for third season with Americans

Allen, Texas – Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson announced that the team has signed defenseman Eric Roy for a third season in Allen.

The native of Beauval, Saskatchewan was selected by the Calgary Flames in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the Americans in 2015 and had 30 points (14g-16a) in 52 games. He backed that campaign up with 35 points (13g-22a) last season in 40 games.  

He played five years of major junior hockey in Canada with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League, where he recorded 200 points (48g-152a) in 322 career games.

Roy has 10 games of American Hockey League experience, tallying four points (1g-3a) with Lake Erie in 2015.
