Admirals add defenseman Schartz

Norfolk, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, have signed defenseman Zane Schartz for the 2018-19 season.

Schartz initially joined the Admirals after wrapping up his collegiate career with Liberty University at the end of last season. In four games with Norfolk last season the defenseman netted his first professional point, an assist, and added seven penalty minutes.

In his final season at Liberty, Schartz ranked sixth among all ACHA skaters with 59 points (23g-36a) in 35 games. Over three seasons with the Flames, the Plano, Texas native recorded 129 points (48g-81a).
