RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush announced that defenseman Josh Elmes has re-signed with the team for the 2018-19 season.
Elmes completed his rookie season with the Rush last year. After beginning the season in the Iowa Wild’s American Hockey League camp, he appeared in 59 games with the Rush, collecting 13 assists and finishing with an even rating.
A native of Brandon, Manitoba, Elmes completed a season in the Southern Professional Hockey League, playing in eight games and notching three points (1g-2a) with the Fayetteville FireAntz before being traded to the Evansville Thunderbolts, where he added 16 points (5g-11a) in 35 games.
Prior to playing professionally, Elmes jumped around the ranks of junior and college hockey, playing for the OCN Blizzard in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, the Fargo Force and Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League, the University of Manitoba in USports and the Moosomin Rangers in the North Central Hockey League.
