Howies Hockey Tape named “Exclusive Tape and Lace Provider of the ECHL”

The ECHL announced on Wednesday that Howies Hockey Tape has been named the “Exclusive Tape and Lace Provider of the ECHL” beginning with the 2018-19 Season.

As part of the agreement, Howies Hockey Tape will be the exclusive supplier of all hockey tape and skate laces to ECHL teams.

“The ECHL is excited to welcome Howies Hockey Tape to our League and stable of valued suppliers,” said Ryan Crelin, ECHL Chief Operating Officer. “Howies provides quality products for our players on the ice and has expressed a dedication to service for our Teams. We look forward to this new partnership.”

The three-year agreement will feature Howies Hockey Tape as the sponsor of the ECHL Rookie of the Month award throughout each season and will provide the winning players with a Howies Prize Pack for their achievement.

About the ECHL

Began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states, the ECHL has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 27 teams in 20 states and two Canadian provinces for its 31st season in 2018-19. There have been who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League after starting their careers in the ECHL, including 18 who made their NHL debuts in the 2017-18 season. The ECHL had affiliations with 26 of the 31 NHL teams in 2017-18, marking the 21st consecutive season that the league had affiliations with at least 20 teams in the NHL.
